What Is Modern Slavery
40 million people across the globe are enslaved. The slave trade generates $150 billion per year. Not only is the scope of slavery enormous, but so is the list of ways it manifests in the world. Here you’ll find some general information about what modern slavery is, and what it looks like.
Fighting Modern Slavery
“Is not this the kind of fasting I have chosen: to loose the chains of injustice and untie the cords of the yoke, to set the oppressed free and break every yoke? Is it not to share your food with the hungry and to provide the poor wanderer with shelter — when you see the naked, to clothe them, and not to turn away from your own flesh and blood?”
Modern slavery is a pressing issue in the modern world. 40 million people (the combined populations of New York, London, and Sydney) currently live in slavery. We at Colorado Life Church believe that God has called us to do something about it. We believe God has called us into the fight against modern slavery. Here you will find a collection of resources we have gathered on our journey to learn about and understand what modern slavery looks like, and how we can fight it. We hope it will inspire you to action as it did us. If you come across information we don’t have, please email it to firstname.lastname@example.org, and we’ll add it here. The more we know, the harder we can fight.
